Dining Services Assessment

Saint Mary's College of California (Moraga, CA) has used the same dining services contractor for almost 50 years. SSG was retained in December 2016 to conduct an extensive student needs assessment, an operational assessment, meal plan evaluation, facilites review, and comprehensive financial and contract review.  The project was completed, on schedule and on budget in the Spring, 2017.

Samford University

Dining Service Assesment

Samford University (Birmingham, AL) retained SSG in 2021 to manage a campus dining RFP process.  The process consisted of a student needs assessment and a comprehensive review of the campus dining program.  Programs and dining venues included were: resident dining, retail food court, several branded formats, the faculty club, and athletic concessions.  Several national contractors were selected to propose on the Samford contract.  The project was successfully completed, on time and on budget, with the new contractor scheduled to begin service around June 1, 2022.

Seattle Pacific University

       

Dining Services Assessment

Seattle Pacific University (Seattle, WA) has used the same dining services contractor for over 25 years. SSG was retained in 2013 to conduct an extensive student needs assessment, an operational efficiency assessment, meal plan evaluation, and complete financial and contract review.  Based on the assessment, the University decided to maintain the current contractor and renegotiate the existing agreement.  SSG completed the contract negotiations on schedule and on budget.

Dining Services Assessment

St. Andrews Presbyterian College (Laurinburg, NC) retained Support Service Group, LLC to assess their long term contractor’s ability to improve student satisfaction, within existing budgetary parameters. As a result of the dining services assessment, a decision was made to continue with the existing contractor and a new contract was successfully negotiated.

Dining Services RFP Process

Taylor University, (Upland, IN), retained SSG in 2022 to manage a campus dining RFP process.  The process consisted of a student needs assessment and a comprehensive review of the campus dining program.  Programs and dining venues included were: resident dining, retail food court, and campus catering.  Several national and regional contractors were selected to propose on the Taylor contract.  The project was successfully completed, on time and on budget, with the new contractor scheduled to begin service around June 1, 2022

University of Louisville

RFP and Contract Analysis

The University of Louisville  (Louisville, KY) retained Support Service Group, LLC to analyze the vendor responses to its RFP for dining services management.  SSG prepared a detailed assessment of the vendor responses and detailed recommendations for the long-term contract strategy.  The strategy included the development of a plan to transform U of L from an all retail campus to a campus with resident dining and innovative retail dining venues.  The project was completed on time and under budget in the spring of 2008.

University of Maryland Baltimore County

Dining Services Assessment and RFP

The University of Maryland Baltimore County conducted a nationwide search early in 2007 for a consulting firm to assist them in assessing their campus dining services. Support Service Group, LLC was retained to conduct extensive marketing research, including a detailed web based student satisfaction survey.  The resulting assessment and recommendations were built into the State of Maryland standard procurement RFPformat and the RFP was published electronically December 2007. SSG assisted UMBC throughout the RFP process and completed the contract negotiations during the spring of 2008.

Transition Management

UMBC elected to change contractors after many years and complete extensive dining services renovations and retail venue expansions. Due to the success of the RFP project, UMBC retained Support Service Group, LLC for additional consulting services to manage the transition of contractors and establish communications protocols between the University Liaisons and the contractor.

Annual Retainer

As a result of the successful RFP process, UMBC has retained Support Service Group, LLC each year for quarterly program assessments and annual financial negotiations through the 2017/2018 academic year.

University of North Carolina Asheville

RFP Development and Process Management

University of North Carolina Asheville (Asheville, NC) retained Support Service Group, LLC to conduct a dining services review, develop a request for proposal, and provide professional consultation during the RFP process. The RFP was developed under State of North Carolina guidelines and published on the official state procurement web sites. The RFP process was completed on schedule and substantially under budget.

University of South Carolina Beaufort

Resident Dining Facility

The University of South Carolina Beaufort retained Support Service Group, LLC to evaluate the feasibility of establishing a resident dining program at the new South Campus.  As a result of the feasibility study, USCB retained SSG to manage the establishment of a resident dining facility and prepare a RFP for the dining services management.  SSG managed the RFP process including vendor selection and final contract negotiations.  The new resident dining program with meal plans was established, and a new student center with resident dining facility constructed on budget and on schedule.

Annual Retainer

USCB retained Support Service Group, LLC for the first year of the new resident dining program to insure successful meal plan and program implementation.  The program implementation was completed successfully.
